Our House System: Many Houses, One Family
This Friday, our College community will gather together to celebrate House Patron Day. This significant occasion invites us to reflect on the lives and legacies of the remarkable individuals who inspire our House system. More than just time a time for celebration, House Patron Day is an opportunity to recognise the values that unite us as a K-12 community and help shape the culture of Corpus Christi College.
Our House system is a core aspect of life at Corpus Christi. It provides a sense of belonging and identity, encourages students to build relationships across year levels, and creates opportunities for leadership, service, teamwork and personal growth. Through pastoral care, House activities, sporting events, faith experiences and community outreach, our Houses help students discover that they are part of something larger than themselves, whilst encouraging them to look outward in service to others.
While each of our House Patrons has a unique story, they are united by a common commitment to faith in action. Coming from different countries, historical periods and walks of life, Caroline Chisholm, St Emilie de Vialar, St Mary MacKillop, St Angela Merici, St Vincent Pallotti, St Oscar Romero, Bishop Rosendo Salvado and St Francis Xavier each dedicated their lives to serving others, responding to need and making a positive difference in the word around them.
Central to each of their stories is a belief in the dignity of every person and a willingness to use their gifts in service of others. Our House Patrons demonstrated courage in the face of adversity, compassion for those most in need, perseverance in their mission, and a deep faith that inspired action. Their lives remind us that faith is not simply something we believe, but something we live through our words, choices and actions each and every day.
The lives of our House Patrons demonstrate qualities that remain as relevant today as they were in their own times:
Compassion - shown through care for the poor, vulnerable and marginalised.
Courage - displayed in standing up for what is right despite challenges.
Service - placing the needs of others before personal gain.
Faith - trusting in God's call and living with purpose and conviction.
Perseverance - remaining committed to their mission even in difficult circumstances.
Leadership - inspiring others to contribute positively to society.
Hope - believing that positive change is possible through action and commitment.
In a world that can sometimes feel divided and focused on individual success, the example of our House Patrons calls us to something greater. They challenge us to build communities of belonging, to stand up for what we know is right, to care for those on the margins and to use our gifts to contribute positively to the lives of others. These are the values that sit at the heart of our House system and continue to shape the culture of Corpus Christi College as we strive to be Outstanding for Others.
Our House Patrons are therefore far more than historical figures. They are role models whose charisms continue to inspire our students to become young people of faith, character and compassion. Through the House system, students learn that they belong to a supportive family within the College, living out this year's theme: Many Houses, One Family.
This strong sense of belonging is one of the most important foundations for student wellbeing and success. When students feel known, valued and connected to those around them, they are more likely to engage positively in school life, build meaningful relationships and embrace new opportunities for growth. Our House system helps foster these connections by bringing students together across year levels and providing opportunities for them to learn, lead, serve and celebrate alongside one another.
This deep sense of connection and belonging gives students the confidence to persevere, to take on challenges and to step outside their comfort zone to learn. Knowing they are supported by peers, College staff, parents and the wider Corpus community creates the conditions for students to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. In this way, our Houses are not only communities of friendship and support, but also rich environments for learning, growth and personal development.
As we celebrate our Houses this Friday, we give thanks for the enduring legacy of our Patrons. Their example inspires all members of our College to live with courage, generosity and purpose, and to continue building a community where each person is valued, supported and empowered. We also acknowledge the many staff, students and families, past and present, whose dedication and spirit have helped create the vibrant House culture we enjoy today. Their collective efforts have fostered a strong sense of belonging and connection across our College community, reminding us that while we proudly represent different Houses, we are, above all else, Many Houses, One Family.
Upcoming Events
Nexus Arts Festival
The College is proud to present the Nexus Arts Festival, our annual celebration of creativity, expression and community. Showcasing the diverse talents of our students through Visual Art and Technology and Enterprise exhibitions, Music, Dance and Drama performances, the festival highlights the many ways creativity enriches and connects our College community.
Each year, Nexus provides students with opportunities to share their talents, express their individuality and celebrate their unique gifts. Through their artistic endeavours, students contribute to the rich and vibrant culture of Corpus Christi, while inspiring others through their imagination, skill and dedication.
The Nexus Arts Festival runs from Wednesday 9 September through to Tuesday 15 September and features a variety of arts events and performances across the College. We encourage families and friends to join us in celebrating the remarkable achievements of our students. Friends of Corpus Presentation – Paul Dillon
We look forward to welcoming Paul Dillon to the College on Monday 14 September for a parent presentation in the Caroline Payne Theatre, commencing at 6.30pm. The presentation will provide practical strategies to help parents and caregivers support safe decision-making and encourage open conversations with their teenage children. Families and friends are warmly invited to attend this valuable presentation. What a fantastic day of spirit, teamwork and House pride at our Junior Inter‑House Athletics Carnival. Our students brought energy, encouragement and determination to every event, making it a memorable celebration of community.
Congratulations to Romero, our Community Shield winners, recognised for outstanding participation, encouragement and House spirit throughout the day.

The Corpus Christi College Music Tuition Scholarship offers Year 7 students entering in 2027 the opportunity to develop their musical talents through subsidised instrumental tuition, instrument hire and performance opportunities.
Valued at approximately $6,000 over three years, families contribute just $700 across the Scholarship period.
Available instruments for 2027: Clarinet, Double Bass/Electric Bass, Euphonium/Tuba, French Horn, Percussion, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet, Viola and Violin.
Students are expected to participate fully in lessons, ensembles and performances while contributing positively to the College's Music program.

Congratulations to all students who participated in the 2026 Public Speaking Night, an inspiring showcase of confidence, courage and communication. From prepared speeches to impromptu presentations, students took to the stage with passion, poise and determination, sharing their ideas and challenging themselves in front of a supportive audience.

Pre-Kindergarten 2028
Families with a child who will turn three years of age in 2028 are invited to register their interest in our 3-Year-Old Pre-Kindergarten program.

Year 7 2029 Entry
The College is currently welcoming enrolment applications for entry into Year 7 2029.
Families with children currently attending other schools, and who are interested in seeking a place for Year 7 2029, are encouraged to submit an enrolment application at their earliest convenience.
Kindergarten 2029 Entry
Families with children who are eligible to commence Kindergarten in 2029 are welcome to lodge an enrolment application at their earliest convenience.
Sibling Enrolments
The Enrolments Team would like to remind families that an enrolment application is required for all siblings seeking entry into any year group. We encourage families to submit these applications promptly to ensure they are included in the enrolment process. As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship and in partnership with the Friends of Corpus, we encourage families to participate in our Uniform Recycling Program. Gently used uniforms can be donated to support sustainability and help other families in our community. Information is detailed below.

As we prepare for the return to summer uniform in Term 4, the Uniform Shop will hold two walk-in opening days during the October school holidays to assist families with any uniform purchases before the start of term.
Open Days
Wednesday 7 October | 9.00am - 3.30pm
Friday 9 October | 9.00am - 3.30pm
Term 4 commences for all students on Monday 12 October, with the Uniform Shop returning to its usual term-time opening hours from this date.
We encourage families to take advantage of these holiday opening days to ensure students are ready for the start of Term 4. Further information will also be available on the Uniform Shop webpage.

Corpus students are invited to put their best foot forward for a great cause by taking part in our Crocs, Socks & Birkenstocks for LifeLink Fundraiser.
On this special fundraising day, students can swap their regular school shoes for their favourite pair of Crocs or Birkenstocks, complete with socks, while wearing their House Uniform. A gold coin donation is requested, with all proceeds supporting the important work of LifeLink, which provides vital assistance to people and families in need throughout our community.
This fun initiative is an opportunity for students to express their House spirit while making a meaningful contribution to those facing hardship. Every donation, no matter how small, helps LifeLink continue its mission of bringing hope, care and support to vulnerable members of our community.
Students are encouraged to embrace the fun of the day, whether that means colourful Crocs, classic Birkenstocks, bright socks, or a combination of all three. Together, we can make a difference while celebrating our commitment to service and social justice.
Donations will be collected by Classroom Teachers in Junior School and Homeroom Teachers in Senior School.
Important Safety Reminder: Students participating in practical Senior School subjects, including Food Technology/Cooking, Physical Education, Science, and Design & Technology, must bring appropriate enclosed footwear to change into for these lessons in accordance with safety requirements.

On Friday 11 September, students from Pre-Primary to Year 12 will come together to celebrate House Patron Day 2026 under the theme Many Houses, One Family. The day will feature a Whole College Mass, House Buddy activities, festival celebrations and the much-anticipated House Rock competition, creating opportunities for students to celebrate their House spirit and grow in Courage, Commitment and Compassion.

This inspiring project brought together creativity, faith and inclusion to enrich learning for our youngest students.
The project involved creating Godly Play sets for Kindergarten to Year 2 students, helping them engage more deeply with Gospel stories and messages. Students from the Senior School Inclusive Education Centre carefully produced the Gospel character sets while learning about each character and their significance. Year 11 students from the College’s Extra Curricular Art Club then designed and created the beautiful storage boxes to house the sets.
This collaboration showcases the very best of Corpus Christi College, combining faith formation, student learning, creativity and meaningful inclusion across year levels.

2026 Angelico Art Exhibition
We are proud to celebrate the creativity and artistic achievements of our students at the 2026 Angelico Art Exhibition, a prestigious showcase of outstanding artwork from Catholic school students across Western Australia.
Congratulations to Nicole Wharton-Street (Year 11 ATAR Visual Arts), Tory Gaglia (Year 12 General Visual Arts), Ava Timson (Year 9 SPARK Visual Arts) and Summer Bartholomeusz (Year 12 ATAR Visual Arts), whose individual artworks were selected for exhibition this year.
A special congratulations also goes to our Year 8 Visual Arts students, whose collaborative artwork received an award, recognising their creativity, teamwork and artistic talent. Representing the group and accepting the award on behalf of their fellow artists were Mila Petta and Easton Moloney.
Congratulations also to the Year 8 students who contributed to the award-winning collaborative work: Kyra Hiew, Angus Millar, Again Jinasena, Lily Martin, Harriet Anderson, Ariella Lane, Hudson Dunn, Sienna Gazzone, Frankie Harley and Matthew Thomas.
The Angelico Art Exhibition provides a wonderful opportunity for students to share their creativity with the wider community and be recognised alongside talented young artists from Catholic schools across Western Australia.

This evidence-based session will explore the realities of teen socialising, parties, alcohol use and vaping, providing practical strategies to help parents navigate challenging conversations with confidence. Paul will share the latest research, dispel common myths, and offer practical advice to help families support young people in making safe and informed choices.
Open to both Corpus Christi College families and the wider community, this is a valuable opportunity to gain expert insights into the issues facing adolescents today and learn how to respond effectively as a parent or caregiver.

At Corpus Christi College, Nexus represents the meeting place of creativity, collaboration and community. The 2026 Visual Arts Exhibition at Corpus Christi College showcases the creativity and artistic development of our students across all year levels. Featuring an inspiring collection of works in painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art, the exhibition captures a broad range of ideas, techniques, and personal expression. From early explorations in colour and form to more refined conceptual and technical investigations, this exhibition celebrates the rich visual language of our student artists.Celebrate creativity across Kindergarten to Year 12 at our annual Art Exhibition.

The Inter-House Play Competition is a student-led initiative that invites participation from students in Years 6 to 12. This event provides an opportunity for students to engage in all aspects of theatre-making, including scriptwriting, directing, acting, and design. Each House develops and stages an original short play, encouraging collaboration, leadership, and creative expression. The process aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the performing arts as well as a sense of community and belonging, whilst also supporting the development of emerging talent across year levels.Venue: Caroline Payne Theatre

Corpus Christi College offers a Learn to Swim Program onsite at the Jennifer Reilly Aquatic Centre. The aquatic centre features a covered and heated 25 metre, eight-lane indoor lap and water polo pool, a separate 12 metre learn-to-swim pool and terrace seating for 180 people. Our Learn to Swim Program is facilitated by Speed With Style, a company who provide a unique approach to swim teaching called Individualised Custom Teaching, which was developed by Dr Nigel Williams in collaboration with head coach and Speed with Style Founder - John Williams.
The Learn to Swim Program is available to both Corpus Christi College students and those external to the College.

Active Kids Sports is Murdoch Active's exciting after-school sports program designed for children aged 5-12 years. Through a variety of structured sports activities, children develop confidence, teamwork, coordination, and fundamental movement skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Chisholm’s Seb McGuiggan, has continued his great form in the pool, delivering a terrific weekend of racing at the Swimming WA State Age Championships, held from 28-30 August at the High Performance Centre.
After qualifying for an impressive 12 events, Seb made the strategic decision to only compete in 8 individual events and two relays. A pesky cold, however, threw a spanner in the works and meant scratching a couple of races - despite this Seb still managed to produce some cracking results.
Seb powered his way to win silver in the 50m Butterfly, silver in the 100m Butterfly and bronze in the 50m Breaststroke. He also smashed out personal bests in all six of the individual events he raced and set four new South Lake Dolphins Club Records across the 16 years and open categories.
Even more impressively, Seb finished inside the top seven in every race he contested and has earned qualifying times for four events in the Australian National Open Short Course Championships.
A huge effort from start to finish, showing grit, focus, consistency and plenty of determination.

Congratulations to Emily Wahyudi (Year 9S) on her outstanding achievement at the 84th South Suburban Music Eisteddfod 2026.
Emily was awarded 1st Place in the Woodwind Recital 18 & Under section, an exceptional result that highlights her talent, dedication and commitment to music.
We are incredibly proud of Emily and wish her all the best as she continues to pursue her musical passions.

From 18 to 22 August, Corpus Christi College proudly entered five teams in the Volleyball State Schools Cup, the largest junior sporting competition in Western Australia.
Our Year 10/11A Boys achieved their best-ever result, finishing first in their pool before narrowly missing a place in the grand final, losing a thrilling semi-final in the deciding set 8-6. They went on to secure an impressive third-place finish overall.
The Year 8A Boys also enjoyed a standout tournament, progressing to the grand final and narrowly going down to specialist volleyball school Harrisdale Senior High School. Their silver medal marks the first Volleyball State Schools Cup medal won by Corpus Christi College.
Congratulations to all students who represented the College with skill, determination and sportsmanship, and thank you to the families who came along to support. The future of volleyball at Corpus Christi College is certainly bright.
