Living our Values
The past few weeks at the College have provided many opportunities to see our Values of Courage, Commitment and Compassion lived out in authentic and meaningful ways.
Our flourishing school community has been enriched by the energy and enthusiasm of students and staff engaging in a diverse range of experiences that nurture learning, service, leadership and personal growth.
At Corpus, our Values are not simply ideals to aspire to, but principles that guide our actions and relationships each day. Whether through embracing new challenges, striving for personal excellence, or serving others with kindness and generosity, these Values shape who we are as a community. Below is a brief recent snapshot of this spirit truly in action.
Book and Science Weeks
Book and Science Weeks gave our students wonderful opportunities to celebrate curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. A highlight was the Junior School Book Week Parade, where students proudly brought their favourite book characters to life through imaginative costumes. Throughout Science Week, students explored and discovered through a range of engaging activities, reflecting the joy of learning that is so evident across our College.
Catholic Arts 2026 Angelico Art Exhibition
We celebrate our Visual Arts department and the amazing pieces that are being created each day by our committed students. The wonderful culture present allows students to courageously explore new ideas and designs. We acknowledge those students whose art pieces were selected to be exhibited at the 2026 Angelico Art Exhibition. A special congratulations to the Year 8 Visual Art Class who won the Group category for their ‘Oddballs and Mischief’ ceramics submission.
Catholic Arts Performing Arts Festival
In continuing with the Arts theme, well done to all of our performers who have been involved in the Performing Arts Festival this term in the areas of Music, Dance and Drama. These students deserve to be most proud of their dedicated efforts and their courage to hone their skills and perform with confidence and poise in front of a live audience.
Public Speaking Evening
The College recently held its annual Public Speaking Evening, which showcased highly accomplished speakers from Years 7 to 12 presenting to a supportive and engaged audience. We congratulate these students on their commitment to developing their public speaking skills and the courage they displayed in sharing their ideas with confidence and conviction. Their thoughtful and persuasive speeches were a wonderful reflection of the talent, preparation and dedication of our students. Their compassion and care for one another in the lead up to and during the event is also to be celebrated.
Confirmation Workshop and Commitment Mass
Our Year 6 students recently took an important step in their faith journey through their Confirmation Workshop followed by the Commitment Mass. We commend them for their enthusiasm, reverence and commitment as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We also extend our sincere thanks to their parents and carers for their support and encouragement, and to the St Thomas More Parish for their partnership and guidance. Together, they play a vital role in nurturing the faith and spiritual growth of our young people.
Tour Day – Student Tour Leaders
We were very pleased to recently welcome more than 400 people to the College for one of our regular Tour Days. It was a wonderful opportunity to share our story with prospective families and showcase our school in action. I would like to acknowledge our dedicated student tour leaders who so generously gave of their time and talents to guide families around the campus and highlight the many opportunities, programs and experiences that make Corpus Christi College such a vibrant and flourishing learning community.
These events and activities are but a small snapshot of the multitude of ways that students can invest in their holistic learning and growth at the College. Of course, this environment happens thanks to our dedicated staff and our supportive parents. We continue to encourage all of our students to live out our College Values everyday and adopt a Readiness to Learn approach underpinned by quality compassionate relationships with those around them.
Upcoming Events
Catholic Education WA’s Laudato Si’ Summit
We are very pleased today to be hosting Catholic Education WA’s Laudato Si’ Summit which brings schools from across our system together to learn and share ideas on how we can positively contribute to the world around us.
The Summit is inspired by the Encyclical Laudato Si’, written in 2015 by the late Pope Francis. Laudato Si’ is an invitation to care more deeply for our common home and to recognise our shared responsibility for the wellbeing of people and the planet.
The title, Laudato Si’, means “Praise be to you” and is drawn from a poem written by Saint Francis of Assisi in 1225, more than 800 years ago. Through these words, Saint Francis reminds us of the beauty of creation and our connection with all living things.
We hope that today’s conversations inspire fresh thinking, strengthen our shared sense of responsibility, and empower us to be thoughtful stewards of creation who make a meaningful difference in our schools, communities and beyond.
Friends of Corpus
This Wednesday 26 August we are holding our Friends of Corpus Catholic Identity and Mission Evening, providing a wonderful opportunity to experience how faith is lived through service at Corpus. Together, we will prepare meals for people supported by St Patrick’s Community Support Centre, reflecting the spirit of compassion and outreach that is central to our College community.
The evening will also include a brief presentation on Catholic Identity and Mission at Corpus and how our Values of Courage, Commitment and Compassion shape the experiences of our students and families. Whether you are a regular attendee or joining us for the first time, we warmly welcome you to be part of this meaningful event.

Dear Parents and Caregivers
It has been another wonderful fortnight across our Junior School, with our community coming together to celebrate stories, faith, learning and connection. From the colour and excitement of Book Week to important moments in the learning and faith journeys of our students, there has been much to celebrate and be grateful for.
Our Book Week Parade and celebrations were certainly a highlight of the term. Students and staff filled the campus with colour, character and creativity as we celebrated this year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories.”
Just as each instrument brings its own unique sound to a symphony, every story brings a different voice, perspective and experience. Throughout Book Week, we celebrated the wonderful way stories come together to inspire imagination, spark curiosity and connect us with people, places and ideas beyond our own experiences.
As Dr Seuss reminds us,“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”May the stories our children discover continue to inspire them to wonder, imagine and develop a lifelong love of reading.
We are truly blessed to have a vibrant Junior School library at the heart of our community, and we thank Mrs Munro for the care and dedication she brings in making it a warm and welcoming place for all students and families to share in the joy of reading.
Our love of reading and literacy learning was also celebrated by Pre-Primary Blue, who proudly shared all they have been learning through our InitiaLit program. InitiaLit provides an evidence-based, structured approach to early literacy, explicitly teaching the foundational skills children need to become confident readers and writers. It was wonderful to see a snapshot of the program in action and, most importantly, to see the progress, confidence and enthusiasm our students are developing as a result of their learning.
The next big event on the College calendar is our Junior Athletics Carnivals. Please check the College calendar for full event details and the schedule for the days. Thank you to all the parents who have already volunteered their time to help, especially with set-up and pack-down. Your support and involvement are greatly appreciated and help make these special community events possible.
Our Year 6 students have also officially begun their journey towards receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. It was wonderful to see students and their families come together for a successful Parent and Student Confirmation Workshop, providing an important opportunity to learn, reflect and prepare together.
This was followed by our Commitment Mass, a special moment marking the beginning of this important faith journey. Through their commitment, our Year 6 students are preparing to deepen their relationship with God and reflect on how the gifts of the Holy Spirit can guide them in the way they live, serve and care for others.
As Pope Francis reminds us, “The Holy Spirit transforms and renews us, creates harmony, and gives us the courage to live our faith.” We ask our community to continue to keep our Year 6 students and their families in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare for this special sacrament.

Corpus Christi College students braved a chilly start to compete in the CAPSS Modcrosse and League Tag Tournament, demonstrating outstanding skill, resilience and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Our Modcrosse teams continued their remarkable success, claiming 1st place overall for the third consecutive year. Adding to this impressive achievement, the First Team extended its incredible record of conceding no goals, highlighting a disciplined and determined defensive effort. This strong defensive mindset was evident across all teams, with League Tag sides also keeping opposition scores exceptionally low throughout the competition.
In League Tag, our teams faced strong opposition and ultimately finished 4th overall, with just two points separating the top four places. While there were many positive performances, crucial moments proved costly, and maintaining control in attack at key times impacted some important results.
Most importantly, it was wonderful to see the enthusiasm, sportsmanship and camaraderie displayed by our students across the day. Thank you to the dedicated staff who supported the teams and helped make the tournament such a positive experience for everyone involved.
Congratulations to all students on representing the College with pride, determination and excellent team spirit.

Our Year 2 to Year 6 students are gearing up to take part in a fun and friendly national maths competition, competing alongside students from schools across Australia through Times Tables Rock Stars.
From Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 September 2026, students can earn points for themselves, their class and the College by correctly answering multiplication and division questions. The competition is designed to build confidence, fluency and enthusiasm for mathematics in an engaging and interactive way.
To support student wellbeing and encourage a healthy balance, there is a 30-minute daily limit on earning competition points. We encourage families to cheer on their young mathematicians and help make the experience enjoyable, positive and stress-free.
Good luck to all our participants. We can't wait to see how many Maths Rock Stars Corpus can produce!

Congratulations to all students who participated in the 2026 Public Speaking Night, an inspiring showcase of confidence, courage and communication. From prepared speeches to impromptu presentations, students took to the stage with passion, poise and determination, sharing their ideas and challenging themselves in front of a supportive audience.

Expressions of Interest Now Open for Antigone (An-tig-o-nee)
Students entering Years 10-12 in 2027 are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to be part of the College's 2027 Senior Production, Antigone (pronounced An-tig-o-nee).
Set in a dystopian world inspired by the ancient city of Thebes, Antigone tells the story of a young woman who challenges authority when it conflicts with her conscience. Exploring themes of courage, justice, family and personal responsibility, this timeless story remains as relevant today as it was over 2,000 years ago.
Students can express interest in a wide range of roles, including acting, chorus and movement, music, stage management, technical theatre, design, backstage crew and student leadership positions. Whether you're most comfortable on stage, behind the scenes, or leading a team, there's an opportunity to contribute.
No previous experience is required. We're looking for students who are enthusiastic, reliable, collaborative and ready to learn and grow through the production process.

Pre-Kindergarten 2028
Families with a child who will turn three years of age in 2028 are invited to register their interest in our 3-Year-Old Pre-Kindergarten program.

Year 7 2029 Entry
The College is currently welcoming enrolment applications for entry into Year 7 2029.
Families with children currently attending other schools, and who are interested in seeking a place for Year 7 2029, are encouraged to submit an enrolment application at their earliest convenience.
Kindergarten 2029 Entry
Families with children who are eligible to commence Kindergarten in 2029 are welcome to lodge an enrolment application at their earliest convenience.
Sibling Enrolments
The Enrolments Team would like to remind families that an enrolment application is required for all siblings seeking entry into any year group. We encourage families to submit these applications promptly to ensure they are included in the enrolment process. As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship and in partnership with the Friends of Corpus, we encourage families to participate in our Uniform Recycling Program. Gently used uniforms can be donated to support sustainability and help other families in our community. Information is detailed below.

College Photo Days will be held from Wednesday 2 September to Friday 4 September 2026.
Students are reminded to wear their full winter uniform, including correct grooming and presentation, for their scheduled photo day.
Further information, including ordering details and forms, will be sent home in Week 5.

As we prepare for the return to summer uniform in Term 4, the Uniform Shop will hold two walk-in opening days during the October school holidays to assist families with any uniform purchases before the start of term.

Friday 9 October | 9.00am - 3.30pm
Term 4 commences for all students on Monday 12 October, with the Uniform Shop returning to its usual term-time opening hours from this date.

On Tuesday, a group of Corpus Christi College students had the privilege of visiting the St Carlo Acutis Relics and Exhibition at the Chapel of St Michael the Archangel at CEWA.
During our visit, we heard from Kate from Friends of St Carlo Acutis Australia, who shared the inspiring story of this remarkable young saint. Although Carlo did not grow up in an especially religious family, he developed a profound faith, a deep love for the Eucharist, and a desire to use his God-given gifts in service of others. His compassion for the poor and his creation of a website documenting Eucharistic miracles continue to inspire young people around the world.
Our students demonstrated great reverence as they venerated the relic of St Carlo on display, a piece of his pericardium, the tissue that protects the heart. This powerful experience invited us to reflect on how a life centred on the Eucharist can also protect our own hearts, helping us to grow in faith, courage, and holiness.
As Corpus Christi people, we are reminded that our identity is in the Eucharist, the Body of Christ. Carlo's example challenges us to place Jesus at the centre of our lives and to use our talents to serve others and share the Gospel in the modern world.

Corpus students are invited to put their best foot forward for a great cause by taking part in our Crocs, Socks & Birkenstocks for LifeLink Fundraiser.
On this special fundraising day, students can swap their regular school shoes for their favourite pair of Crocs or Birkenstocks, complete with socks, while wearing their House Uniform. A gold coin donation is requested, with all proceeds supporting the important work of LifeLink, which provides vital assistance to people and families in need throughout our community.
This fun initiative is an opportunity for students to express their House spirit while making a meaningful contribution to those facing hardship. Every donation, no matter how small, helps LifeLink continue its mission of bringing hope, care and support to vulnerable members of our community.
Students are encouraged to embrace the fun of the day, whether that means colourful Crocs, classic Birkenstocks, bright socks, or a combination of all three. Together, we can make a difference while celebrating our commitment to service and social justice.
Donations will be collected by Classroom Teachers in Junior School and Homeroom Teachers in Senior School.
Important Safety Reminder: Students participating in practical Senior School subjects, including Food Technology/Cooking, Physical Education, Science, and Design & Technology, must bring appropriate enclosed footwear to change into for these lessons in accordance with safety requirements.

Lift the Lid Walk & Mental Health Expo
The Wellbeing Team would like to share an upcoming community event focused on mental health awareness and support.
The Lift the Lid Walk & Mental Health Expo will be held at Wireless Hill Park, Booragoon, on Sunday 13 September 2026. Participants are invited to join family, friends and colleagues for a community walk and connect with local mental health practitioners, support groups and services. The event also aims to raise awareness and support research into pre-teen mental health. The walk commences at 9.00am (registration from 8.30am), with the Mental Health Expo running from 9.00am to 4.00pm. Attendance is free, with optional fundraising encouraged.

The Corpus Christi College community has once again demonstrated the power of Courage, Commitment and Compassion, raising an incredible $15,251 through this year’s World’s Greatest Shave.
Students and staff embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, with participants stepping forward to shave or cut their hair in support of Australians living with blood cancer. The result was not only a series of fresh new looks across the College, but a remarkable fundraising effort that will make a real difference to families facing some of life’s toughest challenges.
Representatives from the Leukaemia Foundation praised the achievement, describing the fundraising total as an outstanding result and expressing their gratitude to every student, staff member and family who contributed.
To put the achievement into perspective, the funds raised by Corpus Christi College could provide a regional family with a home-away-from-home for more than six months while receiving life-saving treatment in a major city.
In addition to the fundraising effort, students also donated their hair, which will be provided to Sustainable Salons as part of the World’s Greatest Shave initiative. The donated hair will be repurposed to support environmentally sustainable programs and community initiatives.
The Leukaemia Foundation was so impressed by the College’s efforts that it has offered to provide certificates of appreciation for participants and assist with a special presentation to recognise the students involved.
This outstanding result reflects the generosity and community spirit that are hallmarks of Corpus Christi College. Through their willingness to give, students have not only raised vital funds but have also brought hope and practical support to Australians affected by blood cancer.
Congratulations to all involved for making such a meaningful impact. Your commitment to helping others is a powerful reminder that together, even small acts of generosity can create lasting change.

On Friday 11 September, students from Pre-Primary to Year 12 will come together to celebrate House Patron Day 2026 under the theme Many Houses, One Family. The day will feature a Whole College Mass, House Buddy activities, festival celebrations and the much-anticipated House Rock competition, creating opportunities for students to celebrate their House spirit and grow in Courage, Commitment and Compassion.

August 31 to September 4 marks Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation week which offers an opportunity to recognise the important contribution of the Education Assistants and Learning Assistants who support students and teachers across our College.
Throughout the week, we will take time to acknowledge and celebrate the work of these valued members of our community and the difference they make each day. Across our Junior and Senior Schools, Education Assistants and Learning Assistants work alongside teachers to support students in their learning, build confidence and independence, navigate challenges and experience success.
Their work is varied and highly responsive to the needs of our students. On any given day, this might mean helping a student understand a challenging concept, providing encouragement to persevere with a task, supporting participation in classroom activities, assisting with organisation and routines, assisting with physical needs and being a trusted and reassuring presence. Through these everyday interactions, they help create classrooms where students feel known and supported.
Our Education Assistants and Learning Assistants bring tremendous skill, patience and care to their roles. The relationships they build with students, and the support they provide to teachers, make them an important part of our learning community and a wonderful reflection of our College values.
Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week gives us a special opportunity to say thank you. To all of our Education Assistants and Learning Assistants, we are incredibly grateful for the commitment, generosity and care you bring to Corpus each day, and for the difference you make in the lives and learning of our students.

Languages Week 2026 transformed the College into a vibrant celebration of culture, connection and community. From storytelling and cultural activities to futsal, fundraising, music and language challenges, students experienced languages beyond the classroom while embracing this year's theme, Many Languages, One Community.
Highlights included senior students sharing French and Italian fairy tales with younger students, a Year 10 Italian gelato fundraiser supporting LifeLink, the ever-popular Teachers vs Students futsal matches, and 8 De Vialar taking out the College-wide Languages Quiz title. Seven Corpus Christi College students are participating in the IGNIS Mission, a unique STEM program delivered in partnership with Edith Cowan University and NASA, where students work alongside engineers to solve real-world challenges. The team's mission focuses on using satellite mapping technology to identify lightning strikes in regional Western Australia, helping emergency services respond more effectively to potential bushfire threats.
Across the first two program days at ECU Joondalup, students have engaged in hands-on learning experiences including satellite design, material testing, computer-aided design (CAD), engineering workshops, media training and resilience development. Students also had the opportunity to build solar-powered satellite components, explore advanced materials used in aerospace engineering and hear from industry experts, including university partners and a former NASA technician.
The IGNIS Mission provides an incredible opportunity for students to develop their STEM skills, work collaboratively with professionals and gain insight into future careers in science, technology and engineering. We look forward to following their journey as the mission continues.

Congratulations to our Year 10 students who have achieved outstanding success in the prestigious Curtin Rising Scholar Program. Designed for high-achieving students in Years 10 to 12, the program is highly competitive and requires students to complete genuine university-level study while still at school.
Balancing 8 to 10 hours of weekly coursework and assessments alongside Curtin University undergraduates, these students have earned Distinctions in their Semester One units, an exceptional achievement that reflects their dedication, academic ability and commitment to excellence.

Corpus Christi College will be offering Certificate III pathways in Dance and Music, designed for students who are passionate about the performing arts and wish to further develop their skills, creativity and industry knowledge while completing their WACE.
These nationally recognised qualifications are delivered over two years (Years 11 and 12) and provide students with the opportunity to engage in practical, hands-on learning experiences that reflect real-world creative industries.
Current Year 10 students can select these courses as part of their course counselling discussions happening currently. Year 9 students may wish to keep these courses in mind for their future study. These new pathways reflect our commitment to providing diverse and meaningful learning opportunities for students, supporting both academic and creative futures.

As part of this year's Friends of Corpus Catholic Identity & Mission Event, attendees will have the opportunity to experience service in action, reflecting the values that our students live out each day. The evening will include the preparation of two meals for approximately 40 people, providing a hands-on experience of outreach and compassion.

This event is designed to provide Friends of Corpus members with a meaningful insight into the College's mission and the importance of serving others with Courage, Commitment and Compassion.

Corpus Christi College invites parents and carers to an informative and engaging presentation with Paul Dillon, one of Australia’s leading experts in youth drug and alcohol education.
This evidence-based session will explore the realities of teen socialising, parties, alcohol use and vaping, providing practical strategies to help parents navigate challenging conversations with confidence. Paul will share the latest research, dispel common myths, and offer practical advice to help families support young people in making safe and informed choices.
Open to both Corpus Christi College families and the wider community, this is a valuable opportunity to gain expert insights into the issues facing adolescents today and learn how to respond effectively as a parent or caregiver.
Tickets are free; however, registrations are essential.

Corpus Christi College proudly presents Nexus Arts Festival, celebrating creativity, expression and community. A display of art through vibrant exhibitions, music and dance where connection and creativity shine. The Nexus Arts Festival runs from Wednesday 9 September - Tuesday 15 September with a variety of Arts offerings.
The word “nexus” refers to a central point of connection where ideas, people and experiences come together. At Corpus Christi College, Nexus represents the meeting place of creativity, collaboration and community. It is where the arts unite us, forming meaningful connections across year levels and disciplines.
The Nexus Arts Festival is our annual celebration of the arts, showcasing the diverse talents of students. Through visual art exhibitions, musical recitals and dance performances, students are encouraged to express themselves, share their gifts and contribute to the vibrant life of our College.
More than a festival, Nexus reflects our commitment to holistic education and the belief that every student has a unique voice worth sharing in whatever form that is. It is a time to honour imagination, foster belonging and ignite the spark of creativity that lives within each learner, guided by our core values of Courage, Commitment and Compassion.
Visual Art Exhibition - Wednesday 9 September – Tuesday 15 September
The 2026 Visual Arts Exhibition at Corpus Christi College showcases the creativity and artistic development of our students across all year levels. Featuring an inspiring collection of works in painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art, the exhibition captures a broad range of ideas, techniques, and personal expression. From early explorations in colour and form to more refined conceptual and technical investigations, this exhibition celebrates the rich visual language of our student artists.Celebrate creativity across Kindergarten to Year 12 at our annual Art Exhibition.
Awards will be presented on Wednesday’s Opening Night in the Caroline Payne Theatre

Inter-House Play - Thursday 10 September
The Inter-House Play Competition is a student-led initiative that invites participation from students in Years 6 to 12. This event provides an opportunity for students to engage in all aspects of theatre-making, including scriptwriting, directing, acting, and design. Each House develops and stages an original short play, encouraging collaboration, leadership, and creative expression. The process aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the performing arts as well as a sense of community and belonging, whilst also supporting the development of emerging talent across year levels.Venue: Caroline Payne Theatre

Corpus Christi College offers a Learn to Swim Program onsite at the Jennifer Reilly Aquatic Centre. The aquatic centre features a covered and heated 25 metre, eight-lane indoor lap and water polo pool, a separate 12 metre learn-to-swim pool and terrace seating for 180 people. Our Learn to Swim Program is facilitated by Speed With Style, a company who provide a unique approach to swim teaching called Individualised Custom Teaching, which was developed by Dr Nigel Williams in collaboration with head coach and Speed with Style Founder - John Williams.
The Learn to Swim Program is available to both Corpus Christi College students and those external to the College.

Active Kids Sports is Murdoch Active's exciting after-school sports program designed for children aged 5-12 years. Through a variety of structured sports activities, children develop confidence, teamwork, coordination, and fundamental movement skills in a safe and supportive environment.

We're growing!Active Kids Sports currently operates on Mondays, but we're keen to expand and offer sessions on additional days as the program grows.
