ACC A Division Athletics Carnival 2026 Results

Courage, Commitment and Compassion were on full display at the ACC A Division Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 16 September, as Corpus Christi College athletes delivered an outstanding team performance at WA Athletics Stadium.

Competing against some of Western Australia's strongest athletics programs, Corpus students embraced both the challenging conditions and fierce competition throughout the day. A thrilling battle unfolded between Corpus Christi College, Chisholm Catholic College and St Stephen's School, with positions changing throughout the carnival as athletes fought for every point.

Corpus closed the gap to within four points of Chisholm during the latter stages of competition, but the relay events ultimately proved decisive. Despite the narrow margin, Corpus successfully held off St Stephen's School to secure 6th place overall and maintain ACC A Division status for another year.

A particular highlight was the consistency of the College's boys' squads across all age groups, with the Senior Boys finishing 3rd in their shield competition, an excellent achievement against high-calibre opposition.

Outstanding Individual Performers

Several Corpus athletes produced exceptional performances that ranked among the strongest in the competition.

Lewis Pianta (Under 16 Boys) - 1st Overall Age Group

Lewis was one of the standout athletes of the carnival, demonstrating outstanding versatility across both track and field events.

  • 1st - 100m Hurdles

  • 1st - 200m

  • 2nd - 100m

  • 2nd - Long Jump

  • Member of the 2nd placed 4x100m Relay Team

Carter Trickett (Under 13 Boys) - 2nd Overall Age Group

Carter delivered a superb all-round performance, contributing points across multiple disciplines.

  • 2nd - Long Jump

  • 2nd - High Jump

  • 3rd - 400m

  • 4th - 100m

  • Member of the 2nd placed 4x100m Relay Team

Kaden Ogle (Under 14 Boys) - 2nd Overall Age Group

Kaden dominated the throws competition to record one of the strongest field performances of the day.

  • 1st - Javelin (45.27m)

  • 1st - Shot Put (14.21m)

  • 2nd - Discus

Olivia Stott (Under 16 Girls) - 3rd Overall Age Group

Olivia's consistency across both jumps, throws and middle-distance events earned her a podium finish in her age group.

  • 1st - High Jump

  • 2nd - Discus

  • 3rd - 400m

  • Strong performances in the 800m and Shot Put

  • 1st - 1500m

  • 2nd - 800m

Aaron Webb (Under 15 Boys)

Areas of Strength

Throws

The throwing events proved to be one of Corpus Christi College's strongest disciplines.

Highlights included:

  • Kaden Ogle winning both the Under 14 Shot Put and Javelin

  • Aaron Webb claiming victory in the Under 15 Javelin

  • Harrison Coad winning the Under 14 Division 2 Discus

  • Multiple top-three placings across the throwing events

Middle Distance

Corpus athletes showcased remarkable endurance and determination in the middle-distance events.

Notable results included:

  • Max Parnell winning the Under 14 1500m

  • Aston Meldrum winning the Under 15 Division 2 1500m

  • Strong podium finishes from Lachlan Angelatos, Jules Le Meur and Kai Miller

Sprints

Corpus sprinters consistently challenged the strongest runners in the division.

Highlights included:

  • Lewis Pianta's victories in the 200m and 100m Hurdles

  • Taye Gopolang's 3rd place finish in the Under 15 100m

  • Strong performances from Ruben Reji, Connor Davies, Carter Trickett and Finn Danker

Relays

Relay teams combined strongly to earn valuable points late in the carnival.

  • 2nd - Under 13 Boys Relay

  • 4th - Under 15 Girls Relay

  • 2nd - Under 16 Boys Relay

  • 5th - Under 19 Boys Relay

High Jump

Corpus athletes reached impressive heights across several age groups.

Highlights included:

  • Olivia Stott winning the Under 16 Division 1 High Jump

  • Alissa Giallorenzo winning the Under 15 Division 2 High Jump

  • Numerous additional podium finishes

A Team Effort

While the medal winners and age champions deservedly attracted attention, the success of the day was built on the contribution of every Corpus athlete. Whether standing on the podium, achieving a personal best, stepping into an unfamiliar event or earning valuable points for their team, each student played an important role in the College's result.

Maintaining ACC A Division status is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication, resilience and team spirit shown throughout the season.
