Music at Corpus Christi College

We would like to introduce our Secondary School Music extra-curricular programs to our incoming students for 2025. Please see below the details for each extra-curricular music offering.
MUSIC TUTOR LESSONS 2025
We have a strong and vibrant music program at Corpus Christi College offering tuition in the following instruments:

Lessons are offered on a one-to-one basis during school time with the lessons usually lasting 30 minutes.
Lessons are held during school time on a rotating basis so no one class in missed weekly. Out of class time may be available but preference is given to Senior School students. Music Tutor enrolment form can be completed HERE.
MUSIC CHOIRS, ENSEMBLES AND BANDS 2025
We also have several bands, instrumental ensembles and choirs. This year our instrumental ensembles will be offered for year 6 - 12 students.
Students are encouraged to become involved in one of these groups to enhance their learning and enjoyment of music. There is no additional cost to be involved in any of our bands, choirs or instrumental/vocal ensembles which are conducted out of school hours.

Dance at Corpus Christi College
We would like to introduce our Secondary School Dance extra-curricular programs to our incoming students for 2024.
Please see below the details for each extra-curricular dance group that is being offered.
AUDITIONED GROUPS
Rehearsals are held weekly, Tuesday’s 7.15 - 8.20am running across Term 1 – Term 3.
The Dance Ensemble is a specialist group of senior school students, comprising dancers from Years 7 to 12. The Ensemble aims to provide differentiated learning opportunities that extend our senior students and better prepare them for success in dance and beyond. Dance Ensemble represents the College through performances at events such as the Catholic Performing Arts Festival and the annual Dance Gala and other events throughout the year. Cost is $100.00 for Term 1 to Term 3.
To audition for the Dance Ensemble for commencing Year 7 - 12 in 2025, registrations to audition are 6 February 2024:
NON-AUDITIONED GROUPS
Dance Crew Alliance
This dance class is co-ed and open to all year groups and will focusing on hip-hop. The students involved in this program will have the opportunity to perform at the Dance Gala, our annual dance performance and also at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival and the College events. To participate in this group, students must be at a dance level of intermediate or above. Cost is $100.00 for Term 1 to Term 3. This covers all associated costs such as peripatetic fees, costumes etc.
Dance Collage
Dance Collage is a student centred, liturgical performance group that focuses on creating Christian dance for the College’s masses and liturgies held throughout the year. This award-winning performance group does not require an audition and will be led by the 2025 Dance Captains in collaboration with the Teacher-In-Charge of Dance. This group is open to all students of all dance levels from Year 7 to Year 12. There is no cost associated with this group.
Dance Foundations
Dance Foundations provides the opportunity for students in Year 7 to Year 12, who have little to no dance experience, to develop skills in dance genres such as hip hop or jazz. This is a fun, creative and safe way for our students to get involved in dance at Corpus. Students will also be offered the opportunity to perform at the College Dance Gala Evening, however, this is not a compulsory event. Cost is $80.00 for Semester 1. This covers all associated costs such as peripatetic fees etc.
New Proposed Group - Dance Classique
Dance Classique is a ballet group for Years 7-12 students, running in Semester 1. Students will learn and perform repertoire from an Iconic Ballet with a final performance at Dance Gala. To participate in this group, students must be at a dance level of intermediate or above. There is no cost associated with this group.
