Term 4 2026
Welcome to Week 2
-
From the sandpit to the Cathedral, every Corpus Journey is unique. For the Class of 2026, many different paths have led to this moment. This week, those journeys converge at a shared crossroad, as our graduands prepare to take their next steps beyond the College with confidence, purpose and hope. As their formal Corpus Journey comes to an end, our Year 12 students pause at their crossroads, as a new journey is just beginning.
This week, we farewell our Year 12 students, the Graduating Class of 2026. Graduation is one of the most significant milestones in the life of a school community. It is a time to celebrate achievement, reflect on growth, and give thanks for the remarkable young people who now stand ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the future.
The Class of 2026 has been an outstanding cohort. Throughout their time at Corpus Christi College, we have had the privilege of witnessing them grow in confidence, character and maturity. We have seen young people embrace opportunities, navigate challenges, achieve success across a wide range of pursuits, and contribute positively to the life of our College. Most importantly, they have demonstrated what it means to be truly Outstanding for Others.
At Corpus Christi College, we aspire to form young people who lead with Courage, Commitment and Compassion. Our Year 12 students have embodied these Values, in all facets of College life. Through their leadership and example, they have shown our younger students what it means to be a Corpus graduate.
Graduation Week also provides an opportunity to reflect on the diverse journeys that have brought these young people to this point.
For some members of the Class of 2026, the journey began in Yidarra’s Pre-Kindergarten sandpit, taking their first steps into learning, friendship and faith within the Corpus community. While others commenced their Corpus Journey in Year 7. While their pathways have been different, this week they arrive together at the same significant milestone.
Each student has travelled a unique road, shaped by different experiences, opportunities, relationships and challenges. Their journeys have not all followed the same path, yet they have converged at this Year 12 crossroad. What unites them is not where they began, but who they have become.
At Corpus Christi College, we view education as a pilgrimage of discovery, transformation and purpose. Inspired by the missionary journeys of St Paul, the Corpus Journey reflects the formation of young people as they grow in knowledge, character and faith.
In the early years, students approach learning with wonder and curiosity, forming their first connections with others and developing a sense of belonging. As they progress through their schooling, they discover their gifts, build resilience, deepen relationships and learn the importance of service. Through the middle and senior years, they are challenged to think critically, lead authentically and develop a strong sense of purpose.
Every stage of the journey is important. Every experience contributes to the person they become.
And so, whether their journey with Corpus began in the sandpit, in another primary school community, or at the gates of the College in Senior School, they stand together this week in the Cathedral, ready as young people equipped with the values, skills and confidence to make a positive difference in the world.
Graduation in the Cathedral is rich in symbolism. It reminds us that education is about far more than academic achievement. It is about the formation of the whole person. It is about helping young people discover who they are called to be and preparing them to live lives of purpose, service and faith.
As our graduands receive their certificates and celebrate this milestone, we also recognise the many people who have walked alongside them throughout their journey.
We acknowledge parents and families with gratitude, the partnership that exists between home and school and the trust families place in us each day. We also recognise the many teachers and mentors who have walked alongside these students helping to shape who they are today. For the expertise, care, encouragement and wisdom that they have provided for each student to help them grow and develop.
The success of our students is built on this shared commitment. When parents, educators and students work together, united by common values and aspirations, extraordinary outcomes become possible. The alignment of these values has helped shape not only successful graduands, but young people equipped to have a positive impact upon our world.
No journey is without its challenges. There have been setbacks, disappointments and obstacles along the way. Yet it is often through these moments that the most profound growth occurs. Resilience is developed through adversity, character is strengthened through challenge, and wisdom is gained through experience. The lessons learned through these challenges will remain with our graduands long after they leave the College.
To the Graduating Class of 2026, thank you for the contribution you have made to our community. Your legacy will be found not only in your achievements, but in the way you have cared for others, embraced opportunities and lived the Values of our College. You have enriched our community and inspired those who follow. You will always remain an important part of the Corpus family.
To our younger students and families, may this graduating class serve as an inspiration. Their stories remind us that every journey is unique, every step matters, and every student has the capacity to grow into a person of faith, character and purpose. While the path each student takes may look different, the opportunity to learn, grow and contribute remains the same.
As we celebrate our graduands this week, we do so with great pride, gratitude and hope. The formal Corpus Journey may be drawing to a close for them, but a new adventure is just beginning. We send forth the Class of 2026 confident that wherever life leads them, they will continue to live with Courage, Commitment and Compassion. May they carry with them the lessons, values and friendships formed throughout their journey and continue to be truly Outstanding for Others.
Best wishes and every blessing

Short-Term Principal

We wish to inform you of a change to the operation of Catholic School Advisory Councils (CSACs), following recent updates from Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA).
As part of CEWA’s commitment to streamline practices, it has been determined that from 2026, Annual Community Meetings (ACMs) for CSACs will no longer be held. This change follows feedback regarding low attendance and participation throughout Western Australia and stronger practices to promote community engagement, transparency and collaboration in Catholic schools.
Rather than an ACM, the College will provide an Annual Community Report (ACR) to all families. This will include:
Key updates on College activities
Fee information for the following year
A summary of the year’s events from the Principal and CSAC Chair
CSAC and Friends of Corpus Executive Representatives
Should you have any queries regarding these changes, please contact CEWA at feedback@cewa.edu.au.

As we celebrated the Feast of Saint Carlo Acutis this month, we are reminded that sainthood is found not in extraordinary moments alone, but in the way we live each day with faith, purpose and love.
Earlier this year, our students had the privilege of visiting the St Carlo Acutis Relics and Exhibition, where they learned about the life of this remarkable young saint and venerated one of his relics.
A teenager with a passion for technology and a deep love for the Eucharist, Carlo used his gifts to share the Gospel and inspire others to encounter Christ. His life demonstrates that young people can make a profound difference in the world by using their talents in service of others.
As we begin Term 4, Carlo's example invites each of us to reflect on how we can live our faith through our actions, relationships and everyday choices.
We are grateful for opportunities such as these that help our students encounter inspiring role models of faith and deepen their understanding of what it means to be people of hope, service and purpose.
To learn more about the life and mission of Saint Carlo Acutis, visit the Friends of St Carlo Acutis Australia.

On Saturday, the 5th of September 8 Corpus teams competed in the Tournament of Minds at ECU Joondalup. The TOM this year was a huge event with 71 schools and 172 teams competing.
Every Corpus student conducted themselves with poise and precision showcasing their ability to critically think under pressure and to work as a highly effective team. I’m very proud to say that one of the Year 9 teams, The Committed Creators, made it to the State Finals while another two other teams, The 150’s and The Terrifically Talented Time Travelers received Certificate of Merit Awards, both placing in the top nine STEM teams in the state with outstanding overall scores. A remarkable achievement. Go Corpus!

From a single cell to trillions, mitosis is one of the remarkable processes that makes growth, healing and development possible.
Last term, our Year 11 ATAR Human Biology students brought this concept to life by creating hands-on models of mitosis. Through collaboration, creativity and problem-solving, students explored each stage of cell division, deepening their understanding of how our bodies grow, repair and replace cells every day.
Learning experiences like these encourage students to move beyond the textbook, applying their knowledge in meaningful and engaging ways.

Congratulations to Year 11 students Audrey Budiono and Anastacia Kirby who achieved outstanding success in their debut appearance at the United Nations Youth Australia Evatt Model UN Competition.
Competing for the first time, Audrey and Anastacia impressed judges and fellow delegates by dominating their preliminary debate round and securing a place in the semi-finals. Representing a nation facing complex geopolitical challenges, the pair demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, diplomacy and negotiation skills throughout the competition.
Their success was underpinned by extensive preparation and a strong commitment to understanding international policy issues. Audrey excelled in analysing policy complexities and developing well-reasoned resolutions, while Anastacia delivered confident and persuasive speeches that engaged both judges and delegates.
Equally impressive was the professionalism and teamwork they displayed throughout the event, earning admiration from peers, mentors and competitors alike. Their achievement is a testament to their dedication, talent and collaborative spirit, and highlights the bright future ahead of them in Model UN and beyond.
We congratulate Audrey and Anastacia on this fantastic accomplishment and look forward to seeing where their leadership journey takes them next.

Congratulations to Year 8 student Kaden Ogle, who recently represented the Willetton Tigers at the prestigious Foot Locker Under 14 National Club Championships.
The tournament brought together some of Australia's strongest junior basketball teams, with the top four clubs from each state competing against one another in a week-long championship.
The Willetton Tigers earned their place at Nationals after being crowned Western Australian Under 14 State Champions in November last year, securing automatic qualification for the national event.
Over the course of the tournament, the Tigers played eight highly competitive games against quality opposition from across the country, finishing with four wins and four losses. Their strong performances saw them place third in their pool.
Kaden made a significant contribution throughout the championship, leading the team's scoring in two matches and playing an important role in the Tigers' success on the national stage.
Representing both his club and Western Australia against some of the country's best young basketballers is a fantastic achievement. We congratulate Kaden on his hard work, dedication and sportsmanship, and look forward to following his basketball journey in the years ahead.

During the October school holidays, Aiden Evans Year 11 completed his Gold Award Qualifying Journey, hiking an impressive 82 kilometres over five days along the Bibbulmun Track with Simply Trekking.
Beginning at One Tree Bridge in Glenoran and finishing in Balingup, Aiden joined six other students from various schools for a challenging expedition through the beautiful South West forests. The students were responsible for organising and preparing all their food and equipment, ensuring they were well prepared for the demands of the journey.
Throughout the trek, the students worked collaboratively, taking turns leading the group and navigating their way along sections of the track beside the Donnelly River and north towards Gregory Brook. One of the most challenging sections was the steep climb up Cardiac Hill before reaching Blackwood Cabin.
The journey required resilience, teamwork, leadership and determination, as the students tackled challenging terrain while carrying their own packs. Congratulations to Aiden on this outstanding achievement and for taking another important step towards completing his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award!
