Junior School Capital Development
We are delighted to share the exciting news that the long-awaited refurbishment of the two Junior School Atriums and adjoining classrooms will commence towards the end of 2025. The design and development of this stage of the College’s ongoing Capital Development Plan has been years in the making so we are very pleased that it is coming to fruition.
We would like to acknowledge the input of parents, students and staff into the design of the spaces which will fully modernise classrooms and promote the delivery of contemporary and innovative holistic learning opportunities for students. The plan extends to the outside of the buildings with the integration of learning spaces into the landscape to support the notion that ‘learning happens anywhere, anytime’. Students will have the opportunity to therefore experience a continuity of learning wherever they are on the campus.
We would also like to acknowledge College Architects, Munns Sly Moore, for their considerable time and effort in developing Stage 22, along with Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) for their assistance.
The Junior School refurbishment is a considerable undertaking with an envisaged completion date scheduled towards the end of 2027. The build will necessitate certain adjustments to the regular school routines, however, please rest assured that the plans we have in place will support the welfare and ongoing learning of students. Further details of this exciting phase in the College’s history are as follows:
-
Refurbishment works will commence this week on the James Nestor Auditorium, with an expected completion date in November 2025. This space is being transformed to serve as a temporary learning area for our Year 5 and 6 students while the College undertakes major capital development works at the Junior School. This refurbishment is a key early step in our broader Stage 22 Capital Development Program, a two-year initiative that will deliver significant improvements to our Junior School facilities, including:
Senior Atrium refurbishment and enclosure – Commencing December 2025, to be completed by the end of 2026
Junior Atrium refurbishment and enclosure – Commencing end of 2026, to be completed in 2027
During this time, the James Nestor Auditorium will remain the designated learning space for Year 5 and 6 students, ensuring a high-quality, consistent learning environment is maintained.
Parent Information Session and Community Feedback
To ensure families are fully informed, the College will host a Parent Information Session on Wednesday 6 August. This session will provide further details about the refurbishment and the Stage 22 building program, along with an opportunity for parents and caregivers to ask questions and share feedback.
We thank our staff, students, families, and wider community for their ongoing support as we undertake this exciting phase of capital development at Corpus Christi College. This refurbishment marks a significant milestone for us as a K-12 community. It supports our continued growth and development as a unified college that strives to create the best possible learning environment for students.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The relocation is necessary to facilitate the refurbishment of the Senior School Atriums, ensuring that our facilities remain modern, safe, and fit for the future. The new space (James Nestor Auditorium) has been designed specifically with the needs of our students in mind.
-
No. Although the space is changing, the new facility is purpose built, and students will remain close to Junior School facilities and other familiar areas, ensuring continuity in their educational experience.
-
The new James Nestor Auditorium will provide a modern learning environment, aiding in students’ transition to senior school while retaining existing benefits such as proximity to JS playing fields and specialist classes.
-
The daily timetable will remain designed to minimise disruption.
-
One of the reasons we have selected the location of this temporary space is due to its proximity to the Junior School oval. At break times, our Years 5 and 6 students are still able to play on the Junior Oval space and therefore not be mixing with Senior School students.
-
The James Nestor Auditorium space includes toilet facilities which are within the building, which will support our Junior School students in Years 5 and 6 not to have to use the toilets with Senior School students. For students requiring an accessible toilet, these facilities are closely located in the adjoining James Nestor Centre building.
-
The recommended parking location for collection is the Junior School. There is additional parking at the church carpark surrounding the St Thomas More Parish outside of Mass Times.
-
We understand that change can be unsettling. We invite parents to attend our Parent Information Evening and submit their questions on our website so that all concerns can be addressed comprehensively.
