Megan Schutte (Year 9 Xavier) has been awarded the prestigious Owen Fisenden Award by the Australian Music Examinations Board (WA) for her exemplary grades in flute. The award was presented to Megan by AMEB (WA) Chairman Assistant Professor Graeme Gilling at the official AMEB awards ceremony at the UWA Music department on Monday 13 March. Achievement of this prestigious award is a feat so difficult that AMEB was unable to award it for the past several years, as no one in WA had achieved A+ in Grades 5 or 6 flute. Megan is instructed in flute by the talented Joanne Robertson, who proudly accompanied Megan to the ceremony. The College congratulates Megan, Joanne and the Music department for their continued commitment to excellence.
