Accounting/Economics Teacher

Full time, ongoing, commencing 2018

The College is seeking applications from committed and dynamic teachers who are able to teach Accounting and Economics across years 7-12, with a focus on the senior years. ATAR experience in either Accounting or Economics is essential. 

Preferred applicants will be experienced and highly professional practitioners who are: passionate about promoting the love of Business and Accounting, and Humanities with a focus on Economics; able to actively engage their students in learning; positive in their willingness to build relationships with students; dynamic in their teaching practice; and proficient in the use of ICT resources to enhance learning.

The successful applicant will be required to be an active participant in developing a cross-curricular approach in the middle school, and demonstrate a willingness to work with leaders and other subject teachers in a Professional Learning Community designed to maximise the opportunities for academic success for all the students they teach.

Teachers are expected to take an active interest in the pastoral welfare of their Homeroom group, supported by the Leadership team, specialist subject teachers and specialist support staff (e.g. College Psychologist, Director of Learning Support, Coordinator of Academic Excellence).

As with all teaching positions at Corpus Christi College, the ability to teach Religious Education would be a distinct advantage, as is the ability to teach in more than one subject area.

Business Manager

Full-time, fixed-term, commencing 2018

As a result of the incumbent’s appointment to the Business Manager’s role at Mandurah Catholic College, the College invites suitable applicants to apply for this role at Corpus Christi College.

Corpus Christi College is a co-educational Catholic school comprising 1300 students from Years 7 to 12, with a staff of approximately 150. Situated in Bateman on 9 hectares, the College is well into a Capital Development Plan which has seen a number of new and refurbished facilities accommodated. In 2018, a new College Theatre seating 440 will be built.

The Business Manager supports the Principal in ensuring there is sound financial management of the College for the future, and for the maintenance and expansion of College facilities and grounds. It also includes overall responsibility for the College’s accounting and finance functions, the catering and cleaning services, uniform shop, the administration processes and procedures of the College, and the provision of a Secretariat function to the College Board and its various sub-committees.

Youth Minister

Part-time, fixed-term

The College is seeking a Youth Minister to work in partnership with the Principal, Deputy Principal Ministry, the Liturgies and Retreats Coordinator, the Head of Religious Education and the Christian Service Learning Coordinator in leading the College community in the evangelising mission of the Church.

The Catholic Youth Ministry vision document “Anointed and Sent” endorsed by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference identifies three goals of Catholic Youth Ministry:

  1. To foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person
  2. To draw young people into responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community
  3. To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today

The Youth Minister has a particular responsibility to help take forward the Catholic Life of Corpus Christi College by further strengthening the partnership between the College and local parishes and for engaging young people into responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community through a range of initiatives and activities.

It will be a flexible, non-teaching role of 2 days per week generally in term time (40 weeks per calendar year), that will enable the Youth Minister to be personally invite students to youth ministry events in the wider church and attend with them where appropriate.
